Sarah seeks her mobile first after waking up. She misses her breakfast and prefers to have coffee. While drinking coffee with right hand, she scrolls up and down in mobile screen with left hand. The whole day she immerses herself in social media platform without even realizing for how long she has been stuck to it. She detaches herself from social media for a while to fulfill her appetite. After satisfying her craving, she again gets back to her cell phone and laptop. It seems her entire life revolves around social media sites or it generates perception that social media must have something to do with her life goals. The mentioned assumptions are however, either true or not true. If we look around we observe majority of people like Sarah who can’t live without cell phone. This is what we call ‘addiction’ in which a person believes he can’t survive without having cell phone. Generally, we acknowledge that addiction towards anything has adverse results. Therefore, adhering to the cell phone for long hours generates negative outcomes.
EYE SIGHT PROBLEMS:
The rays emitting out of cell phone device effect eye
sight. Sticking for more than 2 hours in front of screen engenders blurred
vision, eye fatigue, eye redness and itchiness. Sometimes eyes become exhausted
that they give rise to headache. Therefore, it is recommended to not closely
view the mobile phone.
CELL PHONES DEVOID YOU OF HEALTHY SLEEP:
One probably has to face disturbance in sleep because
of excessive use of smart phones. According to research one must avoid using
cell phone at least 2 hours before going to bed. In those 2 hours you must make
yourself relax completely and segregate your mind from the thoughts of social
media sites so that you will be able to sleep peacefully.
DEPRESSION STATE:
Addiction to smart phone alters the person’s mood for
a while but soon the pleasant mood disappears when you cut off from online
platform. An individual likes to scroll down in news feed to view what’s going
on in others life. It may lead an individual to be more depressed because he
starts to compare his life with others by thinking he is the only one who is
riding a roller coaster. Being addicted it’s tough to stay out of fantasy
world. Therefore, if you are going through this scenario, you need to consult a
doctor.
RELATIONSHIP ISSUES:
Relationship issues arise when you are unavailable for
those who need you. Being addicted to smart phones results in break up. The
reason being that you do not make yourself free for those who are around you. Getting
indulged in too much mobile activities may offend the people whom you are
surrounded with. Therefore, try to spend time with close people and have a
healthy conversation with them.
LAZINESS:
When you use too much mobile phone and look into
things contained in social media, you eventually feel lazy to do anything when
you are done with it. Social media content distracts you prior work to do and
makes you lethargic. In some cases, being addicted to social websites engenders
laziness and a person loses the good opportunity for life.
Thus, the mentioned problems arise when your life
revolves around social media. If you are the one who is dealing with the same
issues, you must restrict yourself, take a break from social applications and
get back to proper lifestyle.
